Shark Bite
« on: September 03, 2017, 01:10:41 pm »
Staying out of the water won't keep this one away. It's a tri flow Obsidian blade I knapped. Got both the obsidian and cholla from Jeb. I got the rosebud wood I believe it was called, from Dylan Holderman in supply trade last year. Hopefully it shows up on first picture where it got its name. The tri flow looks like like a shark ready to bite.

Very nice looking knife.  I like the looks of that handle and the butt cap sets it off.

Thanks Joe and Rob.
Thanks Jeb, I do really like that cholla to. I've got one more stick of it left. Thanks so much for it. I may have to see if we can work a trade out for some more if you get some.

Thanks Hawkdancer, I like the cholla to. Funny thing is nobody around here has seen it before, so they all wonder " how did you do that" lol. Maybe I should just say it top secret, but very time consuming.

Sort of like my "top secret" wood rivets  >:D. Ply me with enough uisge beathea, and maybe you can pry the secret out of me :OK.
I have a spring steel blade the would look nice with a cholla handle.  Did you seal that in with pitch?

No Hawkdancer, I actually even used jb weld to glue on button on and some type of two part pig putty to halvt blade. Usually I halvt blade with pitch glue. I filed cholla down to fit my hand and blade then sanded it. Then I wiped on some English Walnut stain, signed it and three coats of tru-oil.
