NC soapstone chiseier

Came across some raw North Carolina soapstone,

Not sure how NC Soapstone fell into the hands of a Virginian but you did good work. I am working on a similar bowl now but am concerned about the sides breaking out.

Jerry I will make a lid and cook some red beans, then some Boston Baked beans. Yum
Lymann, Some nice Carolinians left a couple hunks at Pete's. It's pretty porous compared to
the Nelson co. VA stuff I usually carve. I am sure they were surface found on account of the cortex (rind).
Start in the center so you have relief space to chisel into.
It gets a little dicey near the edges. Take little bites and slices near the edges don't push it.
