    On a 70" bow any reflex at all will give you a very nice shooting bow, 1" would be great, you will love it.

After making the template & cutting front profiles on the core & bamboo  I ran into a issue with using a 12 in. Riser I had to chose between nodes in the fades or perfect node placement on the limbs I chose the limb placement & 14 in. Riser that gets me beyound the nodes also I modified the mid to uppers more narrow to lighten them a bit more , the hickory core is still losing moisture weight so going to let it got for another two weeks it's stating to take some natural reflex as it drys !

Here is the reflex in real time clamped in there is a lot of on the job training the first time you do one of these tried Deans method of rubber sandwich and clamps I didn't like it and decided to add a 1/8 steel flat stock pressure strip much nicer set up I'm glad I did a dry run as I was low on smaller C clamps and used the taller cabinet clamps but I did a dry run brining it inside and the clamps wouldn't clear my laundry room ducting also tried Deans method of limb thickness tapering using the jointer I was surprised it ended up being a real smooth taper I thought I would have to do some sanding but it turned out smooth , so the glue up design is 14 in. riser after initial glue up with 3 1/2 form tip reflex  68 ntn  going to glue up next week end and made a make shift hot box covering the form and bow using a electric blanket but only reaches 110 F so I will use that for 6 hrs and let it cure 24 hrs !

I cleaned up the tapers a bit more and got it glued up It had 3 1/2 in. of reflex on the form and sprung back to 2 1/4 In.  the glue line looks real good using the presure strip & rubber, so far so good  never having made one of these I was a little worried about making weight with a thinner core but a quick push on the limbs tells me there is plenty & then sum for a 45-47 lb. bow.
