Beaded slit pouch for a gift
« on: February 12, 2018, 07:12:39 am »
Here is a little something I made to gift to someone at the 2018 Marshall rendezvous.  It is based off the Great Lakes native slit pouches. You wear the pouch draped over your belt/sash, and items go in each end. I find them great for carrying a small wallet and a cell phone. Nothing will fall out of it. Glass beads, braintan, and deer tail filled brass cones.

That'll make fine gift, Kyle.
... alone in distant woods or fields, in unpretending sproutlands or pastures tracked by rabbits, even in a bleak and, to most, cheerless day .... .  I suppose that this value, in my case, is equivalent to what others get by churchgoing & prayer.  Hank Thoreau, 1857

Nice gift and edge work and like the red white heart crow beads with the brass cones too.

The eastern great lakes region type beadwork can be some of the most stunning type out there with it's floral and applique type beadwork.

Thanks guys. BowEd, I used the bead patterns from fingerweaving as the inspiration for this design.  My next one will most likely be floral applique.

Nice work!  The little holes in the beads are getting smaller, though!  The person who gets it will like it, I'm sure.
