Californian style bow
« on: April 30, 2018, 10:15:47 pm »
The hickory board turned into a slight bend in handle, Ishsi style bow, pulling 52# at 24", 55# at 25".  Rawhide backed, for looks, splinter prevention and protection against Arizona rocks.  Bow is 55"ttt, with 1.3 inch narrow handle and 1.7 inch widest limb point.

Tiller is a learning curve, it is ok; this bow really wanted to be 62# at 24", but that was one tough draw weight.  Been shooting arrows at 10.7 gpp (560 grains) down to 8.5gpp(460).  I would hunt with this bow.  I love the ability to shoot kneeling and sitting.  I will make another, longer, and see how I like maybe 50# at 26-27" draw.

Thanks for looking.

Another not blurry view as the top limb is not so out of balance with the bottom in actuality.

Cant really see much. It appears to shoot, so that's a good thing.
Only when the last tree has died and the last river has been poisoned and the last fish has been caught will we realize we cannot eat money.

From the pictures, it's a nice looking bow. Could you get more photos of the detail, and maybe a full draw from the side so we can better evaluate your tiller?
