Antler point styled after Scandinavian ice patch finds from the neolithic. Fletching is glued with pitch and bound with linen. Shaft is grey dogwood.

I think I may have put these on here before. If not, here they are. If so, here they are again! Top point is bison leg bone, below that is bison bull neck sinew, 4 metal trade points, reed shaft with small stone point, 2 stone points and then two small game blunts. These are all Plains style arrows. Curtis

Southern arrowood primitive shafts fletched English style with trade points

Red cock feather is trade point black is traget point

Broadhead fletching finished

Target fletching finished

broadhead lashed in with sinew only.

Beautiful arrows!I love the trade point set the black extending back on the shaft transitioning to the wood .What wood are your shafts made from?As a beginner arrow builder I was wondering what stains/paints you prefer on your primitive arrows?

The ones with the trade points are split shafts of maple I used leather dye black and brown. I used a dry cloth to blend the colors together. for painting i usually use acrylic paints. For my real primitive shafts with stone points i use shoot shafts from viburnum,privet,wild rose,dogwwod,and wild holly. I also use shoot shafts with trade points.

Thank you everyone for giving me help with the eastern woodland two fletch. I finished up three arrows to go with my Cherokee inspired "D" bow. (which i am giving a sneak peak of before i post it). I used seasoned privet shoots for the arrows. The were all around 420grs bare shaft. The trade points were spoons and weigh 90grs and are 7/8" at widest point. I used turkey tail feathers from my spring gobbler from last year. I painted the arrows to match the color of feathers and match the raw hide tip accents on bow and the brain tanned deer hide handle. Thank you again for helping me and answering my questions. First time doing the two fletch. I will def. be doing more.
