Afraid it's along ways away for me. I'll try to talk to my cousin, he may be interested.

It is a mite far from here, but I'd sure like to work a trade for some!

Tomorrow's the season opener, I intend to go dig up a few nice chunks. I realize it's a long way from anywhere, so hardly anyone will go. I'll be thinking of you all!

I was there in 07. i was alone and had a ball. Bring a good camera.
Antelope, muleie sand water fowl are abundant
Alturus has pretty women. Visit some shops. The folks are friendly.
Check the road cuts, its all obsidian. Great spot to get Apache tears
is just north of Alturus by the railroad tracks. tons.
Bring digging tools Steel bar, pick etc. You can also collect in the creek
I think. i got lots of rounded nodules. All types. Great place. have a super time,

Thanks Z! I appreciate your input. Yes I've developed a decent game plan, it's served me well at gb and other places. I use a folding e-tool, a regular shovel, and a long pry bar. I'm getting good at removing nodules without chipping or scraping them up much.

Sounds like fun. Might have to put some extra springs in your vehicle.

I love exploration trips that end with a good load of goodies to remember it! My best friend and I went to glass buttes a couple times and always have a ball. Rock collecting, shaft, stave, etc all are fun trips. Someday I’ll get to Davis creek, show us some good pictures of the trip and haul!
May my presence go unnoticed, may my shot be true, may the blood trail be short. Amen.

I still haven't made it yet, hopefully soon. Funny how life gets in the way of living sometimes

It may actually be a good thing as the ground could have still been frozen.
