2018 spring gobbler
« on: May 02, 2018, 02:18:55 pm »
Hello everyone. I have been fortunate enough to take two beautiful gobblers the last two years now. I called this bird in at 6:45 am. It was cool to hear his gobble getting closer and closer. He actually came in slightly below the ridge i was on and passed me up by 30yrds before he came up to the flat i was on. I softly called again and he came right into the decoys between 15-18yrds (i only walked it off to measure). He had a 9" beard and he was very heavy. I used my osage snakey bow and maple arrows with spoon trade points. I also found a mess of ramps on the way out of the woods.[/img]

Excellent job! gorgeous bird.
Only when the last tree has died and the last river has been poisoned and the last fish has been caught will we realize we cannot eat money.

Great bird.Congratulations.The gobblers here are on and off lately.I'm not on very many acres to get a shot at one here, but do keep an ear out for them anyway.

Congratulations NTV. That is really cool. Heck of a good job hunting there. Thanks for taking us along. Looks like they need to start a 2018 hunting pictures thread and put this one in.
