Very good job, I have found most features on a bow will have a purpose other than decorative, not in all cases of course. Be kind of cool to put our heads to gether and try to figure out what these scallops could have possible been used for.

Thanks Leon, Jeff and Steve.
Steve the only things I could come up with other than decoration/artistic purpose(kinda look like waves on the great lakes), would be a weapon in themselves, or an aid in tillering. I think that as long as the scallops are all evenly spaced it helps to see your bend. Cheers- Brendan

Awesome bow.

I reckon if you had a bendy boomerang arrow, you could do a trick shot and shoot the ciggy' out of your mouth. That would be impressive. Seriously though, nice work on the bow.

So I finished this up with some acrylic paint, and beeswax finish. I have a micmac heritage so i chose these colors. The colors are sacred micmac colors red- strength and power, yellow- the sun, blue -for the water and sky and green- for the colors of nature. Finished it up yesterday and went stumping this morning. Heres a few more pics. The tiller didnt change any so i dont have a new fd. Cheers- Brendan

Nice bow. Scalloped bows ranks high on my list. Also I always think its interesting to hear the reasons behind a design or decoration. Thanks for sharing about the colors. Mike
