Gluing strip
« on: August 20, 2018, 06:59:59 pm »
I've read on here that some guys put a strip of wood down the middle of the backing when they do a glue-up with bike tubes. The idea being to even out the pressure across the backing strip, I think. It would seem to me that a strip that was too thin would do nothing and one that was too thick would tend to lift the rubber off the edges. What kind of thickness/width do you guys use and does it depend on the thickness of the backing or the width of the bow?
