Hey Aaron, finally messed with that dogwood
« on: December 17, 2018, 06:26:01 pm »
I got some shoots from Aaron at marshall a couple years back. Been working these slow and they seam to be staying straight. Not sure what type of dogwood but a heavier shaft than most. Burned pattern are with a electric oven coil. Turkey and sinew for fleching. These are for my primitive sticks with sinew strings only. They don't fly good out of my faster bows with fast flight strings. But fly perfect off a natural string. Go figure, guess they belong together. Thanks for looking

Nice, Pauly!

I guess that's what you call arrows that are in tune with the bow. Sure glad they like those. Would be a shame if they liked carbons.

I still remember shooting that 48" sinew backed Osage with a sinew string at Elm Hall a couple years ago. Nice bow and those arrows will look great with it.

Very cool Paul, I'm glad you got some use out of those, they look nice.     Those shafts are Gray Dogwood or Cornus racemosa.  They are heavy indeed, but tough too.  I find they are perfect for hunting arrows for mid to heavy weight bows.  Let me know if you need any more, grows like crazy around me

Those are really nice looking arrows. Great that they work well out of your primitive bow.

I have a handful of dogwood shafts from Aaron also, this might motivate me to finish them up.
