Suprize, suprize.
« on: January 02, 2019, 04:11:16 pm »
Been working on some hides and clean out my freezer,    Found a copperhead that someone brought me from the Carolina's. Started skinning it out and plop, plop 11 little ones popped out, must have been real close to hatching, looked real close to full development. No I didn't check if they had little fangs :o We don"t get to see many Copperheads around here so I got a real education on them today, Sure wished I had a mate to this one real pretty ;D. Anybody else find these when skinning snakes. Bob

That's a beautiful skin and cool surprise inside.  All I find inside of black rat snakes is baby rabbits
I started out with nothin' and I still got most of it left

That's a beauty. I have a bow that'd look great on Clint. Really interesting. Quite a range of stages it seems.

BJ, all 11 were coiled up and had a little yolk sac  attached. Been in the freezer for over a yr. Wonder how many times wife reached right in there past a Copperhead.  :o :o ;D I wonder what else I have stored in there. Bob

That's one of the prettiest copperheads I've ever seen. And, those baby skins will make cool arrow cresting.  :OK

Sorry Outback. I was looking at that wrong. Thought Clint posted this. Very interesting and that is a beauty of a copperhead there.
Pat could probably back one of his paper machete figures bows

Good looking skin Bob. As Pat mentioned, I have used snake skin for cresting arrows. Looks especially good on bamboo shafts.

Pretty cool Bob.Kinda like Christmas. That is a really pretty copperhead.I've froze a bunch of snakes but that's never happened to me.Kinda nice to clean out the freezer. They seem to keep quite a long time.I found a bull snake once that had been there a good 10 years.Still good to use.

Beautiful Skin Bob. Never found little one while skinning before but have found all kinds of other critters in them.  ;)
