Alternatives to Facebook
« on: April 26, 2019, 06:19:53 am »
So, I made a political post on there that wasn't well received, somebody got their feelings hurt and reported me. Now I'm blocked for 3 days. I'm done with FB, they definitely filter things based on a political leaning. Any of you guys use an alternative? I refuse to use their platform any longer.

No tolerance. I self identify as someone who said nothing wrong, but they disagree and treat me like I did. I thought that you had to go with what a person identifies as...

Ok, I better stop. I'm gonna get into some actual deserved trouble here if I keep it up.

My preference has alway been not to have social media. Other than Instagram, which my wife does  p for me, and there’s nothing social about it. I got rid of FB over 10 years ago because of the drama that’s on there, and I never even made a post. Try primitive archer, that’s what I use for social media.

+999 for High desert. I Don't even use It. you don't need others opinions. they just try to one up other people and put them down.

What about an alternative to their instant messaging app,  I'm gone from home more than I am home, and I appreciate the video calling Facebook offers.

There are quite alot of options for video calling
Whazzup, Skype, google hangouts just to name a few
I bet all your contacts are present on one or another of them

Unfollow everyone. Messenger will still be avail to ya for all your friends.
Another alternative . . . install Messenger app on your phone. Can message anyone on your gmail contact list (I think).

I'm with Hugh Desert and Deerslayer - I don't use it or Twitter.  PA is my Social media!  Will occasionally read comments on Imgur.

I avoided Facebook for years.  I joined last year and keep it archery related only.  I ignore anything and everything political.  So far it hasn't been bad at all.

I'm not on it either. Always seems like way to much drama for me from the very little I know of. My daughter in law is always wanting me to get on it. I think if I ever did it would have to be like Clint is saying. I probably spend to much time on my phone already though.

I think the only way to really be "social" is to actually go out and spend time with people. other people think otherwise.
