2019 Arkansas State Longbow Championship/BowJam
« on: July 27, 2019, 12:03:31 am »
The Traditional Bowhunters of Arkansas are having their annual State Longbow (and Selfbow) Championship August 31~ Sept 1, 2019. We will also be having a small BowJam beginning Wednesday Aug. 28, and lasting through Sept.1. There's free camping with showers. The weather should be nice and the facilities are outstanding.

Bob,
That is one busy weekend! And the closest archery thing is the flight shoot at Bonneville, only 500 miles away from home!  I got 3 other events within 50 miles!  See you at MoJam!

I'm going to do my best to make it this year! Thanks again for reminding me Bob!
I'm not sure when I can get there but I'll do my best to get there for Saturday and Sunday.

How's the camping situation? Tent camping? Can I camp next to you guys with a camper?

there are about 20 camper sites with electricity and water, plus lots of room for tents...and SHOWERS.

I know most of us wood bows and glass bows...It looks like Roy Hall/ Navajo bows will be coming...he's a great guy.  Terry Hughes that made the Arkansas Stick Bows, selfbows as well as glass bows, will likely be there since he is one of our members.  Maybe we can get him to do a 'build a bow in an hour with a hatchet and rasp' demonstrations...  :OK

I already piggyback my camper with someone, but maybe we can get Tinker to save a space for you...it will be a 30 amp plug?

Is there a grocery near by? Trying to figure out my food/ice situation.

There are a couple of small stores in Mayflower which is about 6 miles away, and Conway is about 15 minutes away...which has nearly 100,000 population and every kind of store there is...

Well I can't wait for it. I will be there in the evening during the week. I will be there all weekend.

Any word if Dave will be making it?

I'm heading that way tomorrow... I still haven't heard from Dave or Patrick.  It sounds like Kenny's saw may not make it, so I'll bring an extra hatchet.  :)

Hey all!! We still have room for others! This is a great location with camper hook ups, water, 30 amp power, gravel sights, and dump station. We also have a large pavilion we can work at, and indoor dining hall with A/C. Oh I almost forgot about showers, and flushing toilets!
