01 Jan 2019

1400hrs  Nice afternoon, wind out of SE and I have settle in up on a small ridge above my creek. Woods is damp and quiet. Sat until after last shooting light without seeing any deer movement in my section. Not unusual as there is a big winter wheat field in the next section on top of the hill. So, I know there deer are bedded right off it til almost dark to push out and feed. Had a great evening with the Wrecking Bow. On the wolk out I got right behind my place and the deer were there as I went thru my bar-way.

Hunting slowed a bit so I worked on my long hunt knife for hunting in Grizz country next fall in east central Idaho.

Great looking knife.  My money'd still be on the griz, though.  :)

I have to smoke some Salmon today but may hit the woods tonite. The high river has the deer right behind my place. Think I may climb up on a well used trail and see what happens.

Good hunting

05 Jan

0600 30 degrees 2 mph east wind. Saw 6 deer that were feeding in corners of winter wheat field but they never came near my stand. Warmed very quickly and will get to 55 today. Wind had picked up on my way out and seem more SE at 5-10mph.

Good hunting

The goal was 10,000 hits fella's during Tennessee's hunting season. Looks like we are going to get there. Getting ready to climb a tree here in an hour or so til dark up on the ridge that the hill cane thicket is on.

Good Hunting

Running out of days here in Tennessee. Cant hunt tomorrow much in morning. will hit the creek bluff in evening!

That guy on the left won the 2019  $ with a 70" HedgeHunter SB ;)  I think I got lucky on that 3Rivers/Arvin shoot down?

Thought the Hedgemen would like to see this?

Good Hunting

Yeah
I like it but string touches limb. For IBO shooting its a recurve not a selfbow. I did like your repair job on it.
She may have shot in recurve but since it was Arvins shootdown i dont think so. Someone should let her know before Worlds this year.

Nice bow Eric

So far they haven't had enough women selfbow shooters to have an IBO world women's selfbow class, Julia said there had to be at least 13. Selfbow classes are pretty liberal as far as design, one piece of unbacked wood is pretty much it in any tournament up to the nationals, I don't know about the specific IBO rules.

Julia has won the nationals at Cloverdale 2 or 3 times with that bow, it met the criteria for their selfbow class. She has also won the IBO world women's longbow class twice with a modern longbow that her husband Danny made.

The IBO doesn't allow a recurve selfbow?  ???
