Ideas for balancing quiver
« on: August 18, 2019, 04:31:14 pm »
I’m looking for some neat ideas for balancing my quiver more rearward. When I wear it, it will slowely start tilting forward. I’m sure the problem will mitigate itself somewhat wen I go to shorter arrows. But for now it acts forward heavy and I need to add some mass to the rear.

So any ideas for an awesome looking and/or functional weight? I can come up with some, but wanting more input Incase someone has a better idea.

Here’s the old girl I’ve been packing the last several years.

Thanks,
Kyle

Move the front strap more forward, maybe all the way. No need to add extra weight, just change the balance point. You can also add a non-slip substance to the strap to keep it from slipping.

Pat Bs idea is good and thats what i could reccommend but just for other options you could put a rock in the corner and some way to secure it.

On my muskrat quiver I put a rivercane shaft inside and attached my strap to it. You could maybe do the same and leave the shaft longer so it sticks out of the hide a few inches and attach your strap further ahead that way.

Thanks for the input guys. I shifted the front strap point and it hangs far better now.
Don’t know why I didn’t think of moving the strap.
I woulda hoped there first time killing her was enough. I guess after a long nap she was ready to wander again.

I just did this one a little while ago. It was really made mostly for display but I like how it balances out. I also cut two narrow strips of deerskin and Flemish twisted them for the strap. Kinda seems to help keep it from slipping around.
