Recurve Osage

So, I am doing something I know nothing about nor do I have any experience with this.

I have a 59" Osage Self Bow, tip to tip, that I am making.
I recurved 7" of the tips. I think I need to get a protractor to measure the radius.

Tillering seems to be pretty straight forward with design, almost easy, unless I am doing something wrong.
Are there any cautions  for tillering a  recurve?

What about the tips, can I narrow them at the ends?

Mid limbs have some set to them, should I try to take some of this out?

You have nearly 1/4 of the bows length as recurves. How long is the non-working handle area? In any case it doesn't leave much for working limbs. No wonder your bow is taking set.  Will you post pics of your bow so we can make better suggestions?

If there is mid limb set you should remove wood where set hasn't occurred yet. Evenly distributed set is the best way to go, because that means the bow is evenly stressed. You didnt mention how far its pulled so far  and to what draw length. Also, how wide is the bow? Pics also help.

It makes posting pics easier.  Imgur seems to be the preferred site. That's what others and myself use.

At that length it will take some set. Assuming some things here. 14 inches recurved, 8 or 9 inches in a static handle, 28 inch draw on a 59 inch bow. With good tiller set is inevitable. Very doable bow, just too short to avoid the set. Bendy handle changes that equation some.
