SET!!! Urrrggg . I agree with most all that’s been said. I have been building a few simple composite and complex composite bows. I have had good luck with gemsbok on the back of Osage selfbows. Also bamboo back bamboo core and gemsbok on the belly. I tend to think that the gemsbok on the back is helping the induced reflex from pulling out. Gemsbok is a heavy material though . Still learning how to best use it. So I have a question . Does steamed in reflex hold any better than dry heat? Stick the bow into boiling water and it gets hot thru and thru. Dry heat one side. I have not spent any real time with steam though. Arvin
Well I'll say!!  Osage is king!!

DC less than 1/8". I am still testing the thickness. Pat if my arrow goes past theirs they will get over it. Or not. DC one of the beauty's of the horn is you can tiller both sides of the bow. That leaves room for plenty of tiller test.  Arvin

Both bows are 67” ntn pyramid 50#ish no crono but did flight test . Selfbow backed with horn 211-219- 222 yds 450gr arrow. The bamboo back bamboo core and horn on the belly had two shots over 235 yds. Steve get busy I want some competition from my friend.DC I weighed the horn laminate before I glued it on it weighed 4oz. It was about 1/8” in thickness at that time. Just guessing it has an average of 3/32 in thickness now. I don’t have a surface sander so I use my ryoby  disk - belt sander to prepare the horn. Arvin

Arvin, at my age I only have so much energy to go around and I decided I am going to devote that to chasing girls!
