Use of Fordite / AKA Detroit Agate for tip overlays

Has anyone used or looked into using "Fordite" as a tip overlay material? Would it be hard /resilient enough?

For those who haven't heard of it, "Fordite" is the name given to chunks of paint that has built up over the years on the walls of automotive paint shops. People have started getting hold of it and selling it on EBay etc. for jewelry, pen blanks etc., and I was wondering if anyone had used it for bows yet. If you have, I would love to see some photos.

That's cool stuff. I saw a show about folks making jewelry with it.
I don't think it work very well for overlays because it is just layers of paint and too soft for overlays.

Yeah it’s cool looking stuff I saw a YouTube video were a guy turned a tiny pot out of it.

I think I’m with pat, probably to soft for tip overlays but you might be able to make part of a handle riser out of it
