New kind of quivers
« on: July 04, 2020, 08:26:32 pm »
This has been an idea bouncing around my head for a few years after seeing a kid dumping his arrrows out of a back quiver when he bent over.  I finally got around to figuring out a couple designs.  There is a 60 lb strength neodymium magnet in them.  It holds the arrows very securely.  They are for field points only.  They would hold a broadhead tipped arrow but I don't think that it would be a safe way to carry them.  I made hip and back styles.  The core is thin wall PVC that I shaped with a heat gun.  Then I wrapped it front and back with leather.   I really like how convenient the back quiver is to use.  You just flip the arrow up behind your back and it snaps onto the magnet.   Usually back quivers are a pain to get arrows in and out of but this one is pretty easy to use.

The leather I used for the hip quiver had a scar from where the cow had a would stitched up.

I started out with nothin' and I still got most of it left

Very cool idea, Clint and nice work. I think you have a future in leather work.  8)
I love using brands and range marks in leather work when they are available and I think that stitch scar is one of the coolest I've seen.   :OK

Thanks Pat.  The scar was on the edge of the leather piece.  I would have liked to have it centered but that's the best I could do.

Great idea, very nice leather work and stitching; as others have said, you got a winner there. Now, when does production begin and how do we get on the list.

PS looks like the cow probably had surgery once upon a time. Probably a dislocated abdomen. Looks like she healed up, so she must have recovered.
