Not secure
« on: July 21, 2020, 08:09:02 pm »
Your connection is not fully secure
This site uses an outdated security configuration, which may expose your information (for example, passwords, messages or credit cards) when it is sent to this site.
NET::ERR_SSL_OBSOLETE_VERSION

I get this everytime I try to do anything. Is there something I missed?

A little more info. I can get in using Bing but not Google Chrome. Chrome works for all other sites just not this one. Anyone else stuck?

Chrome is also saying

"The connection used to load this site used TLS 1.0 or TLS 1.1, which are deprecated and will be disabled in the future. Once disabled, users will be prevented from loading this site. The server should enable TLS 1.2 or later."

Does this mean that the server has to do something?

Still not working this morning. Guess I'll move over to Bing. It works and Chrome works for everything but PA. My computer did an upgrade yesterday and it's been like this since. I've poked around as much as I'm capable of and restarted a few times with no luck.

I migrated everything to Bing and then it wouldn't work. I poked around and pushed some buttons and now it works but it says "not secure" in red and the "http" is in red and crossed out. Does that mean anything to anyone. This is kind of ringing a bell. I remember something about this from a year or so back.Don't know what though.

Are you entering it as http/.......? Someone told me that give full protection but I'm as ignorant with this stuff as you are. Are you on a phone, laptop or desk top?

I should have mentioned that. I do get the 'not secure' icon in the address bar with Firefox, but no warnings similar to OP.

I was under the impression the 'not secure' icon came up for any site that is not using the https protocol.

It's funny that I seem to be the only one noticing it.

from what I was able to read, the retirement was put off by some browsers for a while on account of the virus thing. some people can click past the warning and still log on, while others may have a browser version that did not have the delay

if you go to "help" or "about" can you find out any info about which version of the browser is giving you trouble? do you prefer chrome. bing is the microsoft search engine. do you have a microsoft computer with a microsoft browser you want to use? which OS? or will firefox work for you if it is a better option?

yes, the site not being https may be a problem going foreward. some older protocols for https are being obsoleted also.

I use Firefox in Windows 10 and don't really have too much trouble and essentially no trouble when I use Firefox in Ubuntu
