Wood identification

Hey guys,

I know that its probably very difficult/impossible but any idea what's wood this is? Found a felled tree so decided to take it home. Woods extremely hard and the amount of sapwood was tiny compared to any other tree I've seen really. Like would have been a 90/10 split in regards to sapwood and heartwood. Were no leaves around to assist in identification. Im in south east Victoria, if that helps at all. Maybe some sort of acaica? Any thoughts would be appreciated :)

I take it your in Victoria, Australia?

Could be Blackwood or Red Ironbark, if so, both make good bow wood.

^ that's what I was hoping apparently that's mad bow wood.

I'm thinking it may be red ironbark though, based on the trees that were nearby and my very very limited knowledge of what those trees were haha. I'll try and go back and take a photo of at least the bark.

Looks like you cleanly split the big stave. The ironbark that I have split  looks pretty ragged, so it might not be IB.

Awaiting pic's of the bark, for a better guess.

I've searched for more info after playing with it for a while, but can't find anything out there - not that everything everyone has ever done is on the internets! But if it's as good as you say, and my first impressions are I'd have thought there would be something to find.
