I was lucky enough to find a huge cobble today on a work site, I drive a concrete truck so I'm always looking on new sites for chert. This one was actually in a almost finished subdivision.

Looks interesting. I'm no knapper, but even I can see that lovely glossy sheen on some of those bits.

Nice rock.  I really like the chert in the second photo.  I think it may be harvester chert, but I am not sure.  It should make a pretty point.

I went to devil's hole knapp-in over the weekend and met some local knappers. They told me that is harvester and spalled out the half node with all the banding for me. Great group of people gave me a bunch of free rock no matter how much I said no. I learned way more in person than all my reading could do. It was a fantastic experience!
