Sinew checking

I got a bow I laid sinew over back in March. It's sat drying ever since. Last weekend I put it in the trunk of my car and left it for a week. Today I pulled it out and the belly has formed a very convex shape, the back is very concave, and the extreme is so much that the belly has almost split in half in spots. I plan to use hide glue and sinew wraps to pull it back together but holy cow. Anyone else run into this?

Sinew shrinks in length.....but also in width....
A way to stop this is to glue a strip of tough material to the belly either just before you sinew or just after.

Sinew is powerful stuff when it dries, I used it on poor quality osage and it delaminated the osage, I was curing it in a hot box.
