How did you splice the deer antlers together?

They are normally done with a simple lap splice and sometimes with a rivet to prevent slippage when gluing.

The antlers must have been straightened somehow and scraped or sanded flat? Is there a good book or other resource on antler bows. This thing is beautiful and I am so curious about how to make one.

I cut the antler in half, then cooked it for 30 minutes and then straightened it ... Reginald Laubin writes about it in the book American Indian Archery
