bandsaw to cut 16gauge sheet steel?
« on: November 07, 2021, 06:46:36 pm »
I have some 16 gauge high carbon steel that’s not been tempered or hardened. Cutting trade points out of the steel with a grinder is tiresome and I was wondering if I could use my hobby bandsaw I have to cut the steel sheet with the proper blade and proper TPI? Any tips?

The more teeth the better and push hard with a low rpm
Tread softly and carry a bent stick.

is your saw variable speed.
most saws for cutting steel turn way less feet per minute than a saw designed for wood.
16 teeth per inch should cut that thickness.
