Lil Tigre'
« on: May 14, 2008, 07:26:48 pm »
I made this little recurve to donate to The Carolina Traditional Archer to be raffled of at the N.C. State Championships near Hickory, NC in a few weeks. I donate a bow every year and try to make them for kids.
She is 49 1/2"t/t, 30#@20" and made with some mulberry I got from Hillbilly. I used tiger striped tissue paper on the back for decoration/camo, double Ferret's floppy rests for an ambidextrous bow and cow horn overlays.  She took a bit of set but shoots very well anyway.
This ought to put a smile on the face of a kid! ;D       Pat

Nice job Pat. Very striking pattern. I need to get a couple finished to raffle at the Utah Trapper Assn. convention in August.

That's a cute little bow ,Pat. It ought to make a little one very happy. I thought I was the only one using construction string for handle wraps.

Sweet little bow Pat, that should make a little archer very happy. Tissue paper makes a great backing.

She's a purtyen, as we've all come to expect - will make some kid proud. I need to check out some tissue paper at Wal Mart did ya say? ;D.

I still have the sister to this stave that I am going to make a sinew backed bendy handle bow for me! ;D I was quite impressed with this mulberry. The bow has been pulled to 24" and shows no sign(other than a little set) of trauma. This is good stuff. Thanks Steve and UNCA! ;)    And thanks everyone else.   Pat
