I’ve had good luck shooting them into the spaced out foam . The first piece of foam slows it down and the second usually stops or nearly stops the shaft. Unless I hit a hole that’s already there. Best to use new foam every time. Ive had the best luck pulling them the rest of the way thru rather than pulling them back out. They can be hard to pull out. I’ve shot stone ones a lot into my old black hole target. Those I usually had to pull out the normal way and I think I broke the corner off one once pulling it out.

Like I said. I don’t “practice” with the stone tips on but I do shoot them.

That’s a scary combination for sure Buckskinner. Thank You

I did weight this point. It’s very close to the point I knapped for pass thru. It isn’t quite as nice, but I’m pretty sure it would work and it weighs 113.4 grains. A little glue and sinew is going to be really close to 125 grains

I'm in awe of you guys that knap your own heads.  (Just like I used to be in awe of people who made their own bows, then I realized that even a clutz like me can do it)  Stone heads aren't legal for hunting in Wyoming, so I've never tried.  But man...downing a big game animal with a stone head would be the ultimate.  Respect!

That there is sweet arrow  :)

I sure wish I didn’t suck at knapping… guess I just need to put in some more time.
Why must we make simple things so complicated?

BJ,  That is one sweet arrow!  Good luck on the hunt, come fall!

Thomas, Come on down to Nebraska, just need a sharpened point with a blade 7/16ths radius from the
shaft! Non-resident season choice antlerless only is $82.  Hunting areas are huge, but cover is scarce, lots of prairie.  Archery is 1 Sept. to 31 Dec.
