Spear point
« on: April 30, 2022, 09:28:37 pm »
I knocked this one out of a slab. I’m not  the greatest with slabs. I still have a little bit of the cut edge showing, but it’s going to have to do.

Haft to fore shaft with pine pitch glue and white tail sinew

Thanks guys. I went for a walk in the woods and cut a white cedar for a main shaft. I’ll let it dry out for awhile before I work on it. I never used it for spear before and thinking I’d like to.

Looks real good BJ. You got good flake scares on that piece imo. Whats the fore shaft made of?

Thanks guys Jerry no I didn’t weigh it. It’s a lot heavier than a arrow head though.

Mike the fore shaft is red osier that’s been drying for several years. I like the scar pattern to. Part of me really wants to get the last little bit of cut edge, but I just like the size and shape to much to screw this one up. Figured I’d stop here and I’ll probably always be looking at the spot I wish was gone.lol

The point haft to fore shaft is 58 grams

I think that should be really close to 895 grains

Thanks Vern

Buckskinner that’s two votes for pig sticker. Have to admit it sure makes me feel like sticking something.

Thanks Stix. Sure wish Marshall was a go.

Allyn I really don’t know what it is. Was in a bucket I got from Frank.
