Schele Museum knap-in

Anyone going to James Parker's knap-in at the Schele Museum in Gastonia NC. this coming weekend, Aug. 4, 5, 6?   :-K   :KN

I've gone a few times in the past but I won't be able to make it this year as we are camping along the SC coast.
a great event if you can make it there.

I thought James told me that was put on by the museum and he had one there later in the month? Are you going this weekend?

Yeah, I went this past weekend, Eddie. Since Steve passed away a few years ago James has taken over this event. It is put on by the Schiele Museum as part of their "stone age" exhibit. You ought to try to make it next year. First weekend in August.
 
I went to this knap-in this past weekend. My friend, James Parker headed it up. They had a display with the progression of making a Danish dagger plus other interesting conversations and displays. Here are a few pics...

some other samples





these are examples of other bronze age things made in the same time period. There is no bronze, copper or tin in Scandinavia hence  the Danish dagger.

Liking it a lot, Pat. When are you coming down. We have a spare bedroom. Parnell is heading up today. I think he's planning on staying till Saturday or Sunday.
