First knifes
« on: July 02, 2023, 02:26:44 pm »
These are a couple knives I started making 20 plus years ago, maybe 30 years. It’s been so long ago I can’t remember exactly. I found them a week or so ago and got them back out and started fooling around with them. The smaller one is from a piece of steel of unknown origin. I think I found it in my father’s garage in the 80’s. Originally I was going to make a patch knife for my muzzle loader with it. I think I heated and quenched it in water trying to harden it. It seems to have little cracks in the blade if you can see them in my picture. The larger one is from a file I had or possibly also from my father’s garage after he passed away. I am wondering what you might think the cracking in the blade of the smaller knife is from.
