Shave Horse Build
« on: August 16, 2023, 10:23:58 am »
I was getting tired of using my bench vise for all of my bow shaping, so I grabbed some scraps from the sawmill and made a Shave Horse. It has become my favorite bench in the workshop.

My wife thought the wood looked way too nice to build a tool out of, but I enjoy it.

Nice build, I have a couple of them and they work nice, I never really got use to using one but I have friends that use mine all the time. :)

I built one many years ago and build lots of bows with it. I gave it to a new bowyer after I bought one of Keenan's Stave Masters. Many bows have been built on a bowyers bench like that.  :OK

Nice!  Building tools out of nice-looking wood is what we do!

If I ever get a bigger shop (or get Mrs. Badger a bigger storage area so I can use more of the shop I've got) I need to build one of these!

That's one of my main tools when bowmaking.
Guns have triggers. Bicycles have wheels. Trees and bows have wooden limbs.
