Trail marking tape
« on: October 26, 2024, 11:28:53 am »
I'm hunting some new Public land and are going deep into an area that pretty well all looks alike. I passed another hunters trail one morning and noticed he had marked it with something that looked like teflon tape, but highly reflective. do any of you recognize this material or product ? My eyes aren't as sharp as they once were ,and this is a marker I can immediately see. It"s actually more like ribbon than tape. Thanks and God bless.

I have used a lot of reflective tacks, these are easy to see with the light of a flashlight in the dark from up to 50 yards away.

There was a kind of reflective tape like a twist tie that people use for marking trails but I haven't seen these in years.

These look like they would work well but you had better pull them as you come out or other hunters will steal them. I had trails marked with tacks all over the land I hunted so I could go in the dark right to the tree I planned to climb deep in the woods and off the beaten track, it was pretty common to find that someone had found my trail and pulled my tacks.

I use reflective tape. I use a hole punch to get the pieces and stick them on thumb tacks. Most HWstores should have some

I've used pieces of reflective tape on push pins. They work very well.  :OK
