wanted to show you guys the pics of my new elm bow
« on: June 21, 2008, 11:00:59 pm »
Nothing real special i guess, i am just a little extra happy with this one for some reason, i think its the whole shooting experience that makes me enjoy it so much.
its slippery elm only  61" ntn    1  1\2 wide limbs.
i heat treated the belly. it has no string follow, in fact is has a little reflex in it.
it weighed in at 60 #  @  28inches ...... i shoot 26inches so its about 56- 57# @ 26
the tips are overlayed with black cherry and the grip looks black in the pics but its actually dark brown.  it was a thin stave so it doesn't have a big "luxurious" grip
Its a really smooth drawing bow and hits surprisingly hard with maybe just the faintest amount of hand shock
well thanks for looking at it- Ryan

Very nice bow, Ryan. I bet that hump just off the handle made it a bear to tiller....but you nailed it.  ;) Pat

Very nice Ryan, the unbraced profile really shows how well you did on that one. Takes a real trained eye to read the tiller with an ofset hump like that next to the handle.  Congratulations on a fne bow.   Keenan

I think elm is "good stuff" because twistedlimbs is a genius for elm. Very nice self bow and set up for June Self Bow of the Month.
