Thanks guys.

No Jawge, I took it off fresh last sunday and tied it greed around a smaller diam sappling trunk. Then today I spred glue on the inside and lined it with leather, put two layers of thick rawhide on the bottom, laced it up and let it dry. Then coated it in a layer of spar varnish.

That is a Thing of beauty! I have a nine and a half foot log of elm about 8in in diameter that I am about to split up for bow wood, can you tell me how to remove the bark so that I can do that without having to piece a lot of it together?

Looks like it will last forever.  Does anyone know if elm bark was "de-furrowed" when it was used for canoes?  I know the Iroquios left it rough for their longhouses.

Hi Guys,  I have to admit Thimo has made a unique quiver.  It looks a little uncomfortable to wear, though.   Ron
