compression crack

I have just finished my first osage flat bow and not without problems
It has a compression crack on the top limb about an inch above the fade
its about 1/2 in. long in short of a "V" shape
what do I do?
 ??? >:(

  Are you sure it is compression? sounds like it is on the back of the bow. You can often wrap a crack with sinew or linen to hold it down, Steve

If it is a compression fracture, then you could poke some holes along the length of the crack with a fine, sharp tool.  I read this in one of the TBBs and tried it...the bow hasn't failed yet, though I can't prove it is due to the hole-poking technique.  Good luck!

Are the cracks on the belly or back and do they run across the limb or with the grain?   Pat
