Son's 1st OSAGE
« on: September 28, 2008, 11:11:54 pm »
This a bow that I made for my son, who had grown out of his little hickory bow. I tillered this piece of character osage so that it would accomodate his draw length as he grows. It's 54" NTN with a maximum draw of 24" and 26lbs. It has antler overlays, whitetail hoof strike plate, antler base rest and one big fox snake for decoration. Everything was glued up with TBIII and finished with several coats of Tru-oil. It's a snappy little shooter.

That's a good looking bow, and I'd say it's safe to bet your son will have a great time using it!

Great bow :) Nothing better than making a bow for a kid.

Beautiful....and it looks like it won't be long before he can draw YOUR bows! ;D

them fox snakes are pretty. Makes me wonder why i haven't seen any bows with corn snakes (especially the "okeetees"  from florida) on here.

Great bow and likely to be around for your son's son. We'll look at it again for Sept Self Bow of the Month.

Thanks for the comments. Actually he helped chase a ring and glue up everything. He also put on the first few coats of tru oil. He wants to do more and will in time. Thanks again.

Nice bow - nice dad. Setting the example goes so far with a younger! Is the Fox snake the same thing as the so-called Corn snake? Sure looks nice on there in any case.
