BigA score's!
« on: October 05, 2008, 12:52:15 pm »
Anthony and I were hunting overlooking whiteoaks dropping acorns that deer were feeding on yesterday afternoon when 4 does came in to feed.

Sorry for the poor quality pic!

2nd pic of us hanging a lock-on stand over that feeding area. Anthony had hunted out of a climbing stand the previous evening when he shot the deer.

Yeah, I know...I think my battery was low and I didn't have my glasses to see to investigate. I hate getting old!  ;D

By the way Terry took a small doe Sat. evening,we went out Sunday moring and recovered her.
Not a selfbow but his Recurve.Still nice job and he was happy the yots didn't find her first, she probably only went 150 yards. Ya getting old is tough ,but better than the alternative. ;) ;D

Thanks guys. Greg and I paid our dues for that deer. We got in the stands at 3:00 and had the sun roast us all afternoon. The deer did not come in till right at dark. This was the fourth setting on these oak trees. I"ve seen 20 deer and this was only the second shot that I had. The frist was a 30 pound buttonbuck at 3 yards that I passed on. After seeing the movement we made a new plan and it worked. I had set down to get ready to climb down when the deer came in. Shooting the dark feathers I did not know where I hit the deer. It felt good I just could not see the impact. The sign did not look good so we backed off. Level heads and a little luck and we found her the next morning. A virues hit me late Sunday night and I've been on the great White stand till today. Better now. Back to work tomorrow and back after them Saturday.

Thanks Frank. Yes Dan I had a hat and mask on. I have to cover all that head or I would never see a deer.

Nice job, Anthony, Congratulations. Whoever took the picture needs to check their batteries, though.
