first bow
« on: January 18, 2009, 12:40:54 am »
This is my first bow, made from a red oak board. Just want to say thanks to every one here, it's not perfect but not too bad for a first try I think.  Already have three more in differing states of completion and I am hooked!

Very  nice bow, especially for a first. The only thing I noticed is that the top limb is bending a little too much near the handle. But over all a very nice bow.

Really funny Tim....both my Boys are Southpaws....and they can both outshoot the Old Man too!!

Nice Bow.....I like the Tiller....just make sure that you don't get them bending too close to the Handle....with a Built Up Handle like that ....you can have them pop off due to stress.....enjoy it....and good luck on the Others....they wont be the Last either!!! It is one addictive Hobby!!

Good job. I took me several years of fiddling before I made my first primitive bow. Be careful though, before long you will be making your own ax handles and tooth picks. ;)

Looks like you did a good job on it. Nothing like the feeling of seeing the first arrow flying from a bow made with your own hands.

Very nice bow and bookmarked for January Self BOM. Study the handles of most of the bows posted here. Yours is a little long.
