Here's what I'm using- old beater ash selfbow with a hand-wind tie-on reel. Oh, and groundhogs are good summertime bowhunting practice here, taste good, too.

heres a carp i shot a few weeks back, 17 pounds. dont let anyone talk you out of eating a carp, we were generous when flaying it, and we brined it for a while and smoked with applewood- honest to god, it tasted like beef jerkey haha. great gar pics, hopefully i can get a tape on reel like you guys. -jimmy

nice carp. i dont know where to find them down here, but i know that gar is also concidered trash, but if done right its delicious. and my hunting budie is useing the exact same reel as you, and it works fine. we all use tape on reels cuz we CANT use the bolt on ones.  ;D

yeah, up here there a damn nusience, they killed two guys from jumping out of the water, hitting them in the head, and knocking them out and off the boad, thus drowndin. honestly, they should let us shoot them with shotguns slugs haha.
