will self nocks in cane work for me?

recurve shooter:
as some of you know im messin around with some cane. im shooting a 55 lb glass powered recurve. will self nocks work? i already had one idioticly thrown togeather arrow explode on me...dont want to repeat that. it hurt. will self nocks work? or do i need to try to make bone or hardwood inserts?

oh, and which end do i put the nock in?

i dont see why self nocks wouldnt work

you would put them on the opposite end of the point lol
put the point on the wider end of the shaft,the nock on the narrow end
this gives the shaft natural weight forward and taper

thanks sailordad. thats what i thought but i wasnt sure.

mullet:
 Self nocks in cane out of a glass bow work just fine. Cut them in the small end and wrap in front of the cut with sinew or thread. When I wrap them with thread I soak the thread with TB3 or Super- Glue.
