Beautiful bow keenen and I'm glad you didn't do any sort of backing as the contrasr is stunning Smiley

Got to ask though did your arms get longer as I seem to remember that you have a 25" draw Cheesy

Dana, Notice I'm trying to get the string back to my ear,,,,,, Roll Eyes That is a 29.5" arrow

That's just grand! I've been thinking about making a R/D selfbow for a while now and after seeing yours and Ryano's I really want to make one. But I have a question. How do you set in the reflex so it stays reflexed instead of coming out during tillering?

I'm amazed at what  you were able to accomplish with a piece of wood that most of us would have discarded. The tips, handle, curves, character - they all flow naturally together to make this superub bow. I tip my hat to the master.

No, not at all. It's a high density piece of yew. That is exactly the kind of yew that you keep. It also has good character.

This bow is why we make wood bows. It's a d*mn inspiration, it is.

Nominate this for bow of the year.

Thanks Jesse,

Ryoon, Thank you, Yew will heat form very well. Just go slow and try for a deep penetrating heat and use some lard to keep it from drying to much. I always try to bend just a touch past what I want for the end result. Things always settle in some. The The original reflexed area was slightly in front of the handle before tillering.  The nice part is that the inner two thirds of the limbs are almost the same as the original stave. Wink

Barrage and Rick, Thank you.

Majsnuff, Thank you , Don't think I was brave. I almost backed it but wasn'tsure I could keep the skin or sinew down around the bumps so this seemed the best option. Like Shamas said, Good tight ringed Yew. Wink

Thank you Medicinewheel.

Thank you Gordon, I hate to say it, but I think I did throw a few potential bows away year ago. Roll Eyes

Thank you mox.

Shamus, Thank you Yes it's high density yew. Not sure what elevation this one came from but it looks to be about 4 rings per 1/16 of an inch. Had to use a magnifier to count. With that as an average it would be around 64 rings per inch. Wink
