« on: January 24, 2010, 07:39:52 pm »
should be good enough to kill a deer :) Haven't beat on a rock since about October so after fleshing a fox, getting a osage stave floor tillered and on the form
I decided to do some knapping. Don't know what kind of rock it is other than that Rick T sent it to me? Possibly Keokuk ??? 2" by 1.25" and weighs 154g
notchs stalled big time but are plenty deep to haft it up :)

Nice one Dana. Looks like Coastal Plains Chert to me.
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intentions of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body. But rather to slide in sideways, thoroughly used up, totally worn out and loudly proclaiming....WOW WHAT A RIDE!!

Be thankfull for all you have, because no matter how bad you think it is...it can always be worse.

Dana,
Once I get up in Chicago, I'm  gonna have to make a day trip (if that's possible- not sure) for some help.  Bill Skinner worked with me one afternoon and he is very talented, but he's the only guy I have ever met down here that knows how to knapp.

Looks good to me. Good enough to shoot into the dirt if you shoot like me.  ::)
