Cutting up some deer meat. We got 8 new block targets to use on events we do at Churches and schools, these should work great. :)  Jeff with his new saw project, his gold is to make all his tools by hand learn the crafts he needs to know and build a cabin with them, he is coming along nicely. :)

My brother and niece show up for a visit by the fire, she always wants to visit uncle Mark. :) :)
Jeff trying out his new saw, he had to make a few tweaks but got it working nicely. :) Will's latest Bo backed bow, turned out very nice/fast and smooth in the hand. :)

And then to top it off , Hunter one of out TwinOaks kids came down for the youth hunt, this will be his last year because of his age, he killed 2 nice doe's, 1 Saturday evening 106 lb doe and another Sunday evening 90 lb. doe. He gave me the second one so I guess I just thought I was through cutting up deer meat for the year. ;) :) Great weekend, hope yall had a good one also. :) Life is Good. ;) :)

Pappy, looks like ya had a real busy weekend, great looking hides, are you sanding the grain side or the flesh, I got one softened yesterday and ready for some smoke. Did you ever try braining and then hang to freeze, Needs to be 20 degrees or lower to help soften easier, we got another cold snap 0 to 10 so I'm going to freeze a couple that I have ready. Bob

Hey Greg, If you are lookin for some excite ment try letting a Fisher or an Otter loose with a catch pole, Becareful they don't take it away from ya tie a knot in it and hand it back to ya :o >:( Bob

Sounds like a lot of fun!!  Never had the pleasure.  No fisher here that I know of and very few otter.  I'll take your word for it.  Nice coyote pics!

I sand the flesh side, usually a little on both but more on the flesh side, it really seems to help, yes I roll them up sometime and put them in the freezer when they aren't dry, that seems to help tell just where the moisture is and seems to help soften them to boot, sometimes I just get tired or run out of time pulling on one and freezing sure don't seem to hurt it. I froze some several times last year when the weather was wet or humidity was high and was having trouble getting them dry so I would just freeze it and come back to it later.  :)

I need to learn brain tanning.  That bow of Will's looks nice as does the yew bow.  Good job at Twin Oaks.

Looks like Hunter wants you to use that new grinder. :)  Looks like another great weekend.  Hard to believe I've been home a week already.  Hopefully time will go by quickly till I get to come back down.
