reworked 59" recurve not for botm
« on: February 08, 2010, 12:45:46 AM »
Here's one that broke at the fades (both of them) from dry fire. did i mention i hate linen strings ( think i broke six strings that day ) maybe i just got a bad roll of it who knows  :-\.
Anyway, check out the wood patches. machined the cracks out and epoxied some osage in but it wanted to open up when the limbs flexed forwards so i put backstrap sinew on the belly and wrapped it with sinew. had to put skins on it to hide the scars. started at 65# but shaved a few off so its sitting at 60# now and shoots great.  >:D Scott

If it doesn't rap the lintel, it might not be a longbow.

Should shoot with some authority...  8) 8) 8)
I really love that limb shape; the whole thing looks fantastic!
Really can't wait to see that other one finished now!
