Hunting the Bamboo Backed Bow
« on: March 07, 2010, 03:39:11 PM »
I've been eyeing this DVD for awhile now and before I throw my money down I was wondering if any of you have purchased this dvd and what you thought of it.  Is it worth the money?

Check out Stim Wilcox, The art of making selfbows.  Lots of great information and well written so it is understandable

Yes Nate it is a great video. I have it on VHS, but haven't watched it for years. If I can find it I will send it to you.

I like the DVD.   I have watched it many times, but really don't get out of it what I wanted.  I wanted more technical detail.  Like watching him tiller.

I would buy it again.  Dean is a top notch guy.  You can learn more by reading his book and buying his insert/pamplet about his tiller technique.

As far as his book does it cover the subject matter of Bamboo backed bows?  I'm sure there is other information I could gain but I'm looking specifically for BB info.

Excellent video.  It takes you from A to Z in bamboo backed bows.  The only thing omitted in detail is tillering, which is covered extensively in HOB.
