Trade Points

(1/3) > >>

Jake Levi:

I am working on a few Pony Bows, from 43-48" and want to put trade points on them besides a few obsidian points that I have,  anybody know of a reasonable commercial source for them?  I want some more slender narrow ones for 23" arrows.

Jake

Pat B:
3Rivers sells trade points similar to the old ones. They would not be legal in most states to hunt with because they are less than 7/8" wide. I used them on a set of plains style arrows I made a year or so ago and donated to last years Classic.

Actually, 3rivers recently started selling tradepoints that are 1" wide.

But as Pat said, if they are narrow they won't be legal to hunt with in most places. However, I sometimes make the narrow ones to fit the smaller sized shafts, I just don't hunt with them.

Those look great I like them!  Its too bad they arent legal I would like to try them out someday.

Cheers!

Jake Levi:

Thanks, I will check them out, a pity the 7/8s arnt legal, I cant see them not killing a deer, I wonder if they are allowed in some states.

Thats a puzzlement.

I cant see using a griz on small game or birds.
