Arrows, jugs, and tasty aquatic critters: good ol' southern-fried fun!

(1/4) > >>

Hillbilly:
Me, Chris, (Mechslasher,) and my son Cody went spent some time on the lake this weekend. Did a little bowfishing Saturday afternnoon. The wind was so strong and the water was so muddy that it was hard to do much with 'em, but we shot a few and missed a few more. I shot one carp that was at least 25 pounds, took us and the boat on a Nantucket sleigh ride for a couple minutes. We threw out some jugs Saturday night and caught a good mess of catfish and a few gar. Had a great time, already looking forward to the next trip.

Wish I could have been there, too. I had a turkey to kill. You guy's had a fun, productive weekend from what Chris told me. He said ya'll got about 70# of cat fish. Did you keep those Carp skins?

Hillbilly:
No, Eddie we didn't. I don't think the common carp have those pretty skins like the grass carp. We kept the catfish fillets, though. :) And I finally got Chris to eat some grilled garfish. That gar is pretty good eatin'.

mullet:
Steve, try cutting it into nuggets and make it like Shrimp Scampi. I make a really good fish jerkey out of it, too.
