deerhide bow string

I made a nice deer hide bowstring,any suggestions on what to put on it to keep it conditioned??

Just a guess, but bear grease, mink oil or maybe just beeswax.

I would also go with the bear grease. Just rub it so that the string "sucks" it in and you are done. beewax WILL come off in a certain time, depending on the use of the string.
