Catch a Dream Bow
« on: June 24, 2010, 09:00:48 pm »
I made a special bow to be auctioned off at the Catch a Dream shoot at Lake Enid Ms this weekend to raise money for terminally ill kids to have their dream hunt.

To catch the eye of more folk I am posting pictures of the bow here so more people will know about it and dig deeper into their wallets.

I used every kind of burl wood I had in my shop to dress up this bow.

The handle overlay is from an oak burl.

The tip overlays are from an iron wood burl. The extra groove is for a bow stringer I supply with the bow, a very safe and easy way to string this bow.

Here is the bows handle and leather rest. I hid a little locater in the handle profile. The rest is from an osage burl.

The bamboo has a dye job with my signature color fade.

Strung up and ready to shoot, and shoot it does, smooth as silk, 48#@28" 66"ntn.

Eric,
That's a beaut for sure!  I enjoy seeing your work.

very nice bow, Eric... I think you do wonderful work... I met a guy at the spring Tanehill shoot that had one of your bows and it is what inspired me to make my own snakeskin backed osage bow.  His was backed with diamondbacks but I did mine with copperheads... Still can't get my tips as tiny as you do though, LOL.   :)

Very handsome, for a good cause too. I hate to see kids go when they havn't had a decent crack at life.
Heck if I got hit by a bus tomorrow I'd know I'd had a go at most stuff, although there are always more bows to make.
The big question is are there better bow woods upstairs O:)  or downstairs >:D... hmmm, maybe where I'm going I'll have to get into heat treating 'em ;D

I understand they are taking proxy bids on the bow if anyone is intrested but can't make the shoot. I stand behind my bows so if someone buys it and has any problem, I will make it right with what ever it takes.
